After a day of pre-season training at School a Squad of Senior players travelled down to play in the annual Pre-Season tournament held at Rugby School.

With a record number of 14 Schools entered it meant Friars faced 7, 20-minute games of hockey against some of the toughest opposition from across the Country.

It was a fantastic start to the season for this new youthful 1st XI side with all players showing promise at such a competitive level.

Friars faced Rugby 1st XI, St Peters York, Bloxham, Norwich, Bedford Girls and Cheltenham. Our most impressive result was a 2-1 win over Norwich with goals from Holly Milbourn/Abbey Steel and Anna Park.

We also managed a fatigued draw against Barnard Castle, despite having most of the play we were unable to get past their agile keeper in our final game of the tournament.

Most improved player of the tournament was voted Anna Park.

Molly Skeer was voted player of the tournament and coaches player of the tournament went to Holly Milbourn.
